Learn more about the National Anthem...

"God Save the King/Queen" is the National Anthem of the United Kingdom. It is also the anthem of the British Royal Family. When the monarch is male, it is "God Save The King"; when the monarch is female it is "God Save The Queen". Its use at state events in Great Britain was one of the first examples of a nation adopting a hymn as a national anthem, and in general only one or two verses are sung.
  • Now watch the video and complete the first paragraph of the anthem in your notebook.
