England is perhaps the country most people first think of when they think of the United Kingdom. It borders both Scotland and Wales and almost 50 million people live in there, which is over 80% of the UK’s total population. Major cities include London (the capital), Birmingham, Sheffield, Leeds, Newcastle, and Manchester.

"God Save the King/Queen" is the National Anthem of the United Kingdom. It is also the anthem of the British Royal Family. When the monarch is male, it is "God Save The King"; when the monarch is female it is "God Save The Queen". Its use at state events in Great Britain was one of the first examples of a nation adopting a hymn as a national anthem, and in general only one or two verses are sung.

The City of London

The English capital is a cosmopolitan city, with people from all over the world settling here after finding it a perfect place to live. London is an incredible mixture of cultures, religions and people, with over 300 different languages. It is the most populous city in the European Union with an estimated population of 7.5 million. It is also an international transport centre due to its geographical position. As a city with ancient history and many attractions it is one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations.

Don't copy and paste exactly from the websites, make your work interesting and eye-catching. It would be great if you could include some more pictures of the place you have chosen. Finally, display your presentation in class.

What comes into your mind when you think of British food? Fish and chips might be your first thought, closely followed by 'meat and two vegetables' type of dishes or a sandwich. The foods that are eaten by British people everyday often have their origins in other countries. Also the English breakfast is a very popular and widespread meal.
